MESSAGE FROM THE STAFF

Our final Winter City Champs are crowned so check out the results below! All City Champion winners will receive bag tags, t-shirts, and $25 gift cards from our sponsors!! I Play Tennis is once again sponsoring our Atlanta Leagues and SportsNet International our Houston Leagues! Pictured at right is our Dallas Men's Singles 4.0 City Champion, Kyle Bowman!

We had an awesome time filming our first Video Tennis Tip of the Month. We invited our Atlanta 4.5 Winter Singles City Champs, Gerard Ladson & Charlotte Thompson out to Racquet Club of the South where Grant Stafford and Brian de Villiers of Devilliers-Stafford Tennis Academy gave them a nice workout and worked on their 'attack the net' strategy! We want to thank them all for taking time out of their busy day to film our tip!

Our Atlanta Junior tennis leagues launched this Spring! Thanks to the efforts of some of the parents, we were able to complete divisions in quite a few areas. However, we need everyone to spread the word to grow the juniors quickly so that no one gets turned down next season :) Our juniors will enjoy a regular season followed by playoffs to determine the City Champs at each playing level, just like the adults do. We will be sending all our junior players a pack of Ace Authentic Tennis Trading cards! Plus, we still have a few openings for juniors, so check the list today and contact us if you have a junior who would like to play!

We just sent out our Spring 2008 Referral Credits this week! We are excited to say that we had many players who earned enough credits to pay for their next season of tennis and a few players who earned as much as $20 worth of LeagueTennis $$ that they are saving up to cash in for $50 gift cards. Our referral program is the only one in town that pays every season your referrals pay to play! So start referring players today, and you may never pay to play flexible tennis again :)

You all have really helped our little league grow--from zero to over 4000 members in a few short seasons!! League participation has exceeded our expectations with over 3800 league participants so far, and over 30,000 visits to our Website last month alone! So once again, thanks for everything!! We really appreciate everyone's feedback - both positive and constructive - as it helps us to know what we are doing right, and where we can improve. Our favorite so far was from a player in Atlanta who said that if they gave out bag tags for customer service, we would surely get one!

And finally, we have some openings in our Spring leagues, so if you missed the Spring registration and still want to play, check the list to see if there is an opening that fits your needs! Plus all Summer Leagues are now open for registration. Don't waste another minute, sign up today!

So have fun and play lots of tennis!!

Sincerely,

The Staff

FITNESS WITH JEFF TIP OF THE MONTH
by Jeff Michaud

Overuse injuries related to personal training, working out, and running.

My client Kim was having problems with elbow, shin and back issues related to both our tennis instrucion and personal training that she has been doing with me and her League Tennis. She has gone to many different physical therapists for rehab in the past and she swears by these guys at Atlanta Body Mechanics, 550 Peachtree Street, Suite 1760 Atlanta, Georgia 30308 404.817.0734, her problems were involved with balance which is commonly overlooked within fitness programs and in both the athletic and general population. The majority of the clients of Body Mechanics and http//www.bodymechanicsatl.com spend their dedicated workout time on cardiovascular and resistance training programs, but balance training plays an integral role in athletic performance and in fall prevention for older adults. read more

MEET A PLAYER
Kelly Fehily, Dallas

I just started playing tennis almost a year ago and fell in love with the game. It has become my little passion of late. I had been looking for some outdoor activity which took athletic skill, was competitive and fun.

Tennis has been great for my body and has the same type anaerobic workout my body gets the most out of. I was a serious gymnast for 10 years (trained with Bela Karoli) and a college cheerleader (at Oklahoma State University) and the quick bursts of energy needed for tennis remind me of my days as a gymnast.

I play with a Babalot raquet and love it - expensive but worth every penny! I think my backhand is my best shot - I really like to hit it hard! But I am just a beginner, hope to improve and have fun doing it.

I volunteer for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association and have brought my 12 yr old "little sister" to play with me when I get lessons - and she is great...really loves it too!

IN THE SPOTLIGHT - Tennis stuff that any crazy tennis fan would enjoy!!

This month we have a little something for everyone!! From tournaments, to mixers, to tennis blogs, you will find something here that fits your needs!!
